Join us in person at the Red Deer Resort and Casino in beautiful Red Deer! This workshop will run on November 25th from 10:00am to 2:00pm with a working lunch included.

This is a targeted workshop for Privacy Officers or anyone working for or serving a public body involved in ensuring PMP compliance under the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). Join us to build your organization’s program, get your PMP well underway, and map out the critical steps to meet the mandatory June 2026 compliance deadline.

Key topics will include:

1) Foundational Requirements (POPA Statute)

2) All mandated requirements for public bodies

3) Foundational statutes

3) The specific components detailed in the Ministerial Regulation

Knowledge and understanding of the PMP framework
Using an AI tool to assist with policy questions (resources provided)
A policy framework for the policy requirements of POPA and PMP
A plan and resources to implement Privacy Breach management
A security classification approach to bring back to your public body for collaboration and implementation
Brainstorming what “Mandatory Training” should look like in your context
A process for understanding non-personal data and automated processing, looking at a specific example (transcription of meetings) that requires governance under the Act
Brainstorming the review times - what would work for your team
